Speculations suggest that jailbreak teams like Pangu are readying the release of the iOS 10 jailbreak as Apple officially rolls out a major update to the official version.

According to Gamenguide, different teams, like Pangu and TaiG, are keeping silent recently. However, instead of the teams already abandoning the work, it is said that a jailbreak version of the iOS 10 is already waiting to launch and that Pangu and the rest are only waiting for Apple to release iOS 10.1. With the new version already out, it is expected that the jailbreak for the base version of the platform will roll out soon.

Meanwhile, with this pattern, it is likely that the jailbreak for upcoming iOS versions will come out as soon as succeeding major versions roll out. This is in part due to Apple coming out with constant updates to its iOS platform, and the updates have been frequent especially for the iOS 10. Before the 10.1 update, the base version has managed to come out up to 10.0.3.

This poses a problem for jailbreak teams, as the official updates — even the minor ones — come out with Apple security patches that plug leaks in the official version. This, in turn, makes the current jailbreak version obsolete in just a matter of time. For example, had Pangu released the iOS 10 jailbreak right after Apple officially announced the base version, the former would have been already obsolete in weeks, as Apple had immediately rolled out iOS 10.0.1.

This means that if Pangu releases the iOS 10 jailbreak tool, in a few weeks, fans will have to wait for the official iOS 10.1.x, or more likely 10.2, before the iOS 10.1 jailbreak surfaces. A jailbreak version for the first major update to iOS 10 is highly possible, given that the official iOS 10.1 extends compatibility to previous-gen Apple products like the iPhone 5 and iPad 2.
