iOS 8.2 jailbreak: TaiG Team confident on jailbreak
The TaiG Team appeared in headlines as the group who delivered the most recent iOS 8 jailbreak. With reports claiming that the third beta version of iOS 8.2 has already been rolled out to developers, the Chinese group still expressed confidence that it can offer a jailbreak for the upcoming iOS update.
In November, the group released the TaiG jailbreak for iOS 8.1.1, simply called TaiG, with directions given in Chinese. The jailbreak only works on Windows PCs however, but users can also use a Windows virtual machine that mirrors the function the Windows OS.
The Chinese jailbreak developer team agreed to an interview with iDownloadBlog. Based on the interview, the TaiG Team is composed of a sole member named XN who developed the iOS 8.1.1 jailbreak. The name TaiG came from an ancient Chinese philosophy and is pronounced as "Taiji."
According to XN, the TaiG jailbreak aims to provide more freedom to users when using iOS. The developer claimed that pushing the jailbreak is not for any financial benefit and, as of now, he has no plans to use money as motivation in providing jailbreaks in the future. Developer XN also ensured that the jailbreaking tool he developed is safe, saying that there is no reason for him to develop unsafe tools. Moreover XN has a desire to build a reputable brand.
The TaiG Team was also asked whether it has ties to another Chinese jailbreak team Pangu, which also recently released a jailbreak for the recent iOS 8, and said no, but is looking forward to working with the said jailbreaking group.
XN spilled that he is currently busy preparing for the Worldwide Jailbreak Developer Meeting to be held in China on Jan. 16. The summit invites top jailbreakers to share their respective ideas about the direction of the jailbreak community.
