iOS 8 beta 6 release date next week and Gold Master version to launch Sept. 9

The sixth beta version of the iOS 8 will reportedly roll out next week, while the Gold Master version is set to be released on Sept. 9.

According to reports, Apple will roll out the iOS 8 beta 6 on Aug. 15. It will be the last beta version update of Apple's new operating system before the company releases the official iOS update to the public. Other speculations claimed that the next beta version will arrive on Aug. 18.

The purpose of the iOS 8 beta 6 is to make a final run of tests to ensure that the official operating system will run smoothly. It is very rare that a seventh beta version is released unless Apple spots a bug that needs to be fixed before the Gold Master version will be launched.

On the other hand, the Gold Master version of the iOS 8 is set to make ripples in the market on Sept. 9. The upcoming iPhone 6 will be the first Apple device to pack and run the new iOS 8. The software will also be available for download on the said date.

Apple recently released the iOS 8 beta 5, which improved the iMaps feature of the operating system. Apple Insider reported that the new iMaps work like a search engine. By clicking the number of a store or business, the web site, address, Yelp score will appear on iPhone's Recents list.

The report noted that this new function of iMaps is very useful to users who are constantly in search of new places for entertainment as well as for those people who are new to the place so they can find facilities in their community.

More functions are set to surface when Apple rolls out the iOS 8 beta 6. However, the Cupertino-based company has not revealed any confirmation about the said iOS 8 beta 6 release date.
