iOS 8: Mobile EA games for new Apple OS

Apple

Long before Apple released iOS 8, app developers have already begun planning how they can make the most out of the capabilities of the new operating system. Game makers, too, have been busy with the mobile games that they can offer Apple enthusiasts, especially with the larger real estate on the iPhone 6 Plus. Electronic Arts had not been sleeping on the job, and the company has several games down the road to be released for iOS 8.

"We (also) have a dozen games in the pipeline that will launch over the next year, and today we're announcing the first three," wrote Frank Gibeau, Executive Vice President for EA Mobile, in the EA blog.

On top of the list is FIFA 15 Ultimate Team, which was already released last Sept. 16 in iTunes. The mobile version has the most popular mode, the Ultimate Team Mode, but it won't have the other game modes. This is because It does not use Origin sign-ins, but uses Facebook logins instead. The downside is, games played on a mobile device cannot be cross-saved to the gamer's console and vice versa.

"But on the bright side, you can now access your FIFA 15 Ultimate Team accounts from multiple handheld devices as long as you are logged in to your FB account," explained Lucian Cotreanti, the Senior Product Marketing Manager of FIFA15, in an interview with IGN.

SimCity BuildIt

Next on EA's list is SimCity BuildIt which will launch this fall. Fans of the city planning game will now be able to take their virtual metropolis along wherever they go. Considered as "the most advanced mobile building simulation game," players literally have their cities and citizens on the palm of their hands – or on the tip of their finger — as they control, develop, and built their cities by pinching and tapping on their mobile screens.

Peggie Blast

And the third on the list is Peggie Blast which will also roll out this fall. The engaging ball-and-peg puzzle game will feature many quests and levels that will challenge a player's ability and skill at popping and clearing all orange pegs.

"All three are built specifically for mobile, and now with the capabilities of the iPhone 6 and iOS 8, all three will be bigger and better when they hit over the next few months," Gibeau said.
