Apple is reportedly planning to launch a slew of new devices next month. While some fans are clamoring for new iPhones, the September launch is also rumored to include other Apple devices, and a new iPad mini 4 might be among them.

The new iPad mini might also be launched alongside other iPads, particularly the new iPad Air 3. This seems to contradict earlier reports suggesting that no new iPad Air will be launched this year. Meanwhile, launching a new iPad mini 4 together with an iPad Air 3 and even an iPad Pro is within the predictions of Apple observers, particularly Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities. Kuo has been known to be one of the top analysts for Apple decisions and had already correctly guessed the Cupertino-based company's previous moves and product launches.

Kuo has predicted that should Apple launch a new iPad mini, it would most likely be a miniature version of the current iPad Air 2. Mimicking the larger lineup in design, the smaller version will also most likely carry over other specs of the larger iPad, including a powerful A8-series processor, an 8-MP iSight camera, and much flexible Wi-Fi connectivity.

Moreover, aside from the new iPad mini being a smaller iPad Air 2, the new 7.9-inch tablet will also get much thinner than its present 7.5 mm thickness and will reportedly match the 6.1 mm dimensions of the current iPad Air 2. The new iPad mini 4 will also inherit its larger cousin's laminated display and antireflective coating.

Apple's planned event is rumored to be happening on Sept. 9. Although the event itself remains unconfirmed, Apple will more than likely push through with the rumored affair to counter upcoming tech unveilings from competitors, particularly those that will be revealed at the scheduled IFA event in Berlin, also slated for next month.
