To top the current flagships iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, Apple is reportedly planning to come out with an iPhone 6s in rose gold color.

According to Apple fan and observer Apple Insider, this year's release of the next-in-line flagship will have a color option that would match that of the Apple Watch Edition. It seems that this premium flagship is targeted at those who would want to match their limited edition wearable with an Apple smartphone.

Apple observer Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities presented a new research this week, on which he detailed certain upgrades to the next flagship of the Cupertino-based company. Even if the research is only based on current smartphone trends and not officially backed by Apple, it should be noted that Kuo already correctly predicted previous Apple products, particularly the iPhone 5.

According to Kuo, the next in line to the Apple iPhone 6 will have a rose gold color option, to accentuate the Apple Watch Limited Edition. If this is indeed the case, the new Apple iPhone will have four existing colors aside from the standard gold, silver, and space grey.

Meanwhile, Kuo also said that although it is inevitable that Apple will come out with a new handset this year to counter other current-gen smartphones like the Galaxy S6 and the LG G4, it is still unclear if the company will go with an updated iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, or introduce an all-together new phone to be dubbed the iPhone 7.

Whatever the case, Apple is rumored to be putting next-gen specs to the next iPhone. Aside from a new color choice, users will also experience the Force Touch technology, a new A9 chip with 2 GB of RAM, and two design choices – a 4.7-inch one and another version with a bigger 5.5-inch display.
