"Iron Man 4" has not been officially announced by Disney yet, and as of writing, the studio has yet to announce what their plans are following the fourth "Avengers" film. However, actor Robert Downey Jr., who plays Tony Stark or Iron Man, has hinted that he and Tom Holland will be together for something new.

Downey Jr. posted a new image on Twitter showcasing him, Tom Holland, "Iron Man" director Jon Favreau, and Marvel Studio president Kevin Feige. The caption for the photo reads that the meeting involves Favreau and famed chef Roy Choi, and it may not necessarily be about "Iron Man 4" or "Spider-Man: Homecoming."

However, with multiple Marvel executives and stars, a report from Game N Guide has pointed out that this could mean there are conversations of Robert Downey Jr. continuing to star as Iron Man in a fourth film and that Spider-Man may make an appearance as a supporting hero.

In "Captain America: Civil War," it was Iron Man who recruited Spider-Man, upgraded his armor and introduced him to the Avengers. Iron Man is also making an appearance in "Spider-Man: Homecoming." This would make it feasible for Spider-Man to return the favor if a fourth "Iron Man" movie is moving forward.

Spider-Man and Iron Man also go back and forth in helping each other in the original Marvel comic books. In the "Civil War" series, Iron Man also developed an Iron Spider suit for Peter Parker, and this suit may appear if the two work together in "Iron Man 4."

Favreau has yet to announce what the teased project is about and whether or not it is tied in some shape or form to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, "Iron Man 4" or "Spider-Man: Homecoming." Marvel Studios have yet to announce any project beyond "Avengers 4," which launches in 2019, including the possibility of "Iron Man 4."
