Israel Houghton's coming to London in the New Year

Israel Houghton will be imparting some of his wisdom when he stops by the capital next month.

The Grammy Award-winning worship artist joins Tim Hughes and Muyiwa in the line-up for the fourth annual Renewal conference taking place in London from 25 to 28 January at the Dominion Centre in Wood Green.

Over the four days, preachers, worshippers, songwriters, musicians, singers and praise dancers from across the denominational spectrum will get together for worship and take time to share knowledge and experiences in practical workshops.

The conference is organised each year by Noel Robinson, who hopes worship artists will come away with a fresh understanding of what God has to say about worship, revival and the church.

Noel Robinson shared, “I’ve been blessed to be able to minister in churches across the denominational, cultural, generational and racial spectrum. I believe God is going to usher in revival in the UK that will be led by worshippers who represent the different cultures that currently reside in the UK.

“The Renewal aims to prepare worshippers for revival with its music events, seminar and preachers and remind those that are involved in the worship ministries of our churches that they will be at the forefront of revival and that The Renewal is playing a part in getting them ready for it.”

Seminars will explore in closer details aspects of worship such as songwriting, prophetic art and worship as a tool of intercession.

On January 25, there will be a free youth celebration featuring Jake Isaac, Guvna B, Nikki Fletcher, Joseph Perry and Audacious.

On January 26, the One City One Sound worship event will bring together worship leaders from different church traditions. They include Ruach Ministries, Kensington Temple, Remenante (a group featuring artists from the UK’s Latin American churches), and St Mary’s worship group, a HTB plant. Bishop John Francis of Ruach Ministries will be the guest speaker.

Other worship artists taking part in the Renewal include Mark Beswick, Elim Sound, Donna Akodu, Sonny Badu, Hillsong UK, Graham Kendrick and Lara Martin.

* Registration is £35 for admission to all the events and seminars, £25 per day on 27-28 January, £10 for evening concerts. Visit www.thekwm.co.uk to register
