Jane (Gina Rodriguez) will find it hard to focus on the holiday season as he worried about her graduate school tuition in the upcoming episode of the hit The CW series "Jane the Virgin."

In "Chapter Thirty," Spoiler TV reports that the new mother is worried on how she will be paying for all the expenses in her schooling. Contrary to what she expects, the scholarship she has been counting on will barely cover half of her miscellaneous fees. Jane is now thinking how she can make ends meet. She also needs the money to provide for Mateo's basic needs. Of course, there is her baby daddy Rafael (Justin Baldoni), who is rolling with dough, but the two are still not in good terms after the fight they had last episode.

The family drama continues for this two, as Mateo's parents have still not decided yet on how they will celebrate his first Christmas. Knowing Rafael's background, he must be pushing for an elaborate set up for their only son. Jane has been used to a simple celebration with her family, and while her son will be worth millions in the future, she wants him to stay grounded as much as possible. Still, Yuletide season only comes once a year, so perhaps Rafael is justified if he gets carried away in planning. Who will acquiesce to whom?

Meanwhile, it feels like everyone is in trouble, in one way or another, in the upcoming episode. Rogelio (Jaime Camil) has decided to hire an intern in new company, but things will not work well between them. Rogelio will reportedly find it hard to trust the new kid and will question whether he is really up for the job. As for Petra (Yael Grobglas), she will once again deal with her mother's antics. The older woman has landed them yet again in a troublesome situation, and Petra has to find a way to get them out of it.

Elsewhere, Michael (Brett Dier) is still hot on the trail of the mysterious Sin Rostro. He is trying to locate Luisa's (Yara Martinez) mother, whom he believes to have a connection with the kidnapper. Unfortunately, Michael also suspects that she is already dead, which means the trail is getting cold the longer her body remains hidden. Will he find her? It has been quite a while since Rostro abducted Mateo. Will Michael, if not, the police, eventually apprehend her?

If the synopsis contains a lot of drama, the promo for the upcoming episode shows heaps of fun and excitement. In one clip from the trailer, Rafael is seen ardently kissing Jane on her lips. Another teaser shows three generations of Rodriguez — Jane, her mother, and her grandmother — sitting on a couch with their mouths wide open and a dumbfounded look on their faces.

"I think the word that you're looking for is 'what?!'" says Jane in the video.

"Jane the Virgin" season 2, episode 9 airs Dec. 14 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
