Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) finally married the love of her life. But it seems like she will remain a virgin when "Jane the Virgin" returns for season 3.

In the season 2 finale, Jane's bittersweet wedding to Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) ended in a disaster when his partner Susanna Barnett (Megan Ketch) turned out to be Sin Rostro in disguise and shot him during the wedding night. This could mean that Jane will be a widow in the upcoming season and might not lose her virginity.

In an interview with Deadline, executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman explained why Jane still retained the "virgin" monicker in her name.

"I never wanted Jane to lose her virginity in a season premiere, or a season finale. I think that puts too much pressure on her virginity and frankly, that's never been what the show's been about," Urman said. However, she also teased that Jane will no longer be a virgin by the end of season 3.

Does it mean that Michael will survive the fatal shot that he received in the season 2 finale? According to the executive producer, fans of the rom-com series will find out Michael's fate in the early part of the upcoming season.

Viewers of the show will also find out what Anezka plans to do with her twin sister Petra in season 3. Yael Grobglas's characters shocked everyone when they discovered that Anezka was not the one who was put in a coma. Instead, she and their mother Magda (Priscilla Barnes) worked together to keep Petra unconscious so she can have Rafael (Justin Baldoni) to herself and keep Magda out of prison.

But Urman also told TVLine that the mother-daughter duo also intends to get Petra's money from their scheme as well.

"Their endgame is, of course, money. Magda wants Anezka to get her a lawyer and get her out of jail and stand up for her mom. Ultimately, they're opportunists. I would say money and the Marbella and freedom are their big goals," the executive producer said.

In addition, Urman revealed that fans should also look forward to finding out how Xo (Andrea Navedo) will deal with her pregnancy with Rogelio's (Jaime Camil) archnemesis Esteban Santiago (Keller Wortham) in "Jane the Virgin" season 3.
