"Jane the Virgin" executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman has given the show's fans assurance that Jane (Gina Rodriguez) will find love once again after her husband's death.

During the FYC Panel, Urman, who said that killing off Michael Cordero Jr. (Brett Dier) was always the plan, confirmed that Jane will be romantically involved again later on in the show. She said: "Part of the journey is, like Gina said, she started out this optimistic, romantic dreamer and then she was hit by reality in a really big way. What I want to see in the back half of the series is how she regains some of that optimism, some of that love, and starts to believe in romance again and how it's different from what she first thought it was."

She continued, "We're going to get into that and how does Jane believe in magic again."

Michael dies from heart complications on episode 11 of the third season. The show then jumps to three years later, with Jane raising her child alone.

During the FYC Panel, Rodriguez described Jane as someone who became a little cynical following the tragedy in her life. She also said that her character now has a different perspective in terms of relationships, love, destiny, fate, and sex.

However, neither Urman nor Rodriguez elaborated on who Jane will be romantically involved with, leading fans to speculate who it will be. Some speculate that her romance with Rafael (Justin Baldoni), who is also the biological father of Jane's child and who was a one-time rival of Michael for Jane's affections, will be rekindled. Some say it could be with Fabian (Francisco San Martin), Rogelio's (Jaime Camil) co-star, with whom she shared a date with. Others say that it would be someone else, a character who has not been introduced in the series yet.

"Jane the Virgin" airs every Monday night at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
