Jessa Duggar marches in pro-life rally
Jessa Duggar-Seewald was among the thousands who marched through the streets of Little Rock, Arkansas on Sunday to protest abortion.
The 19 Kids and Counting star shared with her one million Instagram followers a series of photos from the annual event, which is held around the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade landmark decision by the Supreme Court that struck down many laws restricting abortion.
"Headed to Little Rock right now for the annual March for Life!" Jessa captioned a photo that says "The heart of Arkansas beats for life."
"Join us at our state Capitol at 2pm, and together let us take a stand for the life of the unborn," the rest of the caption read.
The 22-year-old Duggar also posted a picture showing the numerous people who showed up for the pro-life rally, and another that features a banner that says, "God loves life, every life, from beginning to end."
Other members of the Duggar household also attended the event. A photo shared on the Duggar Family's Instagram page shows that parents Jim Bob and Michelle and a number of her siblings joined Jessa and her husband Ben at the march.
In commemoration of the 36th March for Life rally, the Duggar children created a video entitled "Duggars Stand for Life" that features scenes from the event.
Talking to the camera, Jim Bob says that about "almost 60 million babies" have been aborted in America in the last four decades.
The video, posted on the YouTube channel Duggar Studios, also shows different pro-life supporters, including Jim Bob, Michelle, Jessa, and 5-year-old Josie Duggar, proclaiming "I stand for life."
Sharing the link to the video on both her Instagram and Facebook accounts, Jessa urges her social media followers to "[join] with us by using the hashtag #IStand4Life!"
In September last year, a visit to the US Holocaust museum prompted Jessa to write a lengthy note expressing her pro-life stance.
Contemplating on the "millions of innocents" who were "denied the most basic and fundamental of all rights—their right to life," Jessa wrote, "May we never sit idly by and allow such an atrocity to happen again. Not this generation.
"We must be a voice for those who cannot speak up for themselves. Because EVERY LIFE IS PRECIOUS."
