Even before she got married, Jill Dillard had always dreamed of becoming a professional midwife.

Now, she is slowly working towards achieving her career goal by carefully juggling motherhood, ministry duties, and her studies.

"As many of you know, Jill and I have been in language school for the past month, and we are encouraged by the opportunities we have had to share the hope of the Gospel with our teachers and for the relationships we have built while studying at the school," Jill's husband Derick shared on their blog.

"And Jill has been doubling up in the study department, as she has also been studying for her upcoming midwifery test to become a certified professional midwife!" he announced.

Derick said he is extremely proud of all the hard work Jill has put in over the years to become a full-fledged midwife, and he is even prouder of what Jill intends to do with her career.

"As it should be in all Christian's lives, she is using this skill as a means to an end, and that end being the spread of the message of the greatest love story ever told, that is, the work of Jesus Christ upon the cross so that all people who believe what he said and choose to make him the Lord of their life will enjoy life with him forever in paradise," Derick explained.

The Christian couple has just finished moving the last of their things in their new home in Central America, and Derick is grateful for all the help they have received from friends and family members. "My brothers and sisters-in-law made it possible for Jill and I to move our stuff in the matter of a couple days. We have also gotten to spend some good quality time with my mom and brother," he said.

Now that they have fully settled in, Derick and Jill will also be brushing up on their language studies so that they can better communicate with the people from Central America.
