Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar planning to adopt a baby?

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar gained instant fame after the couple first appeared on the TLC series "17 Kids and Counting," which eventually became "19 Kids and Counting" as their family grew over the years.

Their youngest child, Josie, was born in 2009, and while the Duggars have previously spoken about the possibility of having more children, a new report claims that the couple is thinking about adopting a baby.

According to Life & Style magazine (via Radar Online), the couple is considering adding a 20th child to their family.

"They've been mulling it over for a long time, and they feel the time is right to get legal advice and get the process underway," a source told the magazine. "They're looking to adopt a child in the New Year."

The insider added that Michelle would welcome a child of any gender or race.

"Michelle says that she doesn't care if they adopt a boy or a girl, or what ethnicity the child is," said the source. "She says she just wants to help a child's life."

Back in 2011, the Duggars experienced heartbreak as Michelle had a miscarriage. The matriarch announced on Dec. 8, 2011 that she miscarried and six days later, the family held a memorial for the baby girl they named Jubilee Shalom.

In a previous interview with Radar Online, Michelle said that she and Jim Bob would love to have more children.
"I know that my mommy years are probably numbered and I don't know how many more children God will see fit to give me," she said.

Since Josie's birth, the Duggars have not welcomed any other children to their family, but this year, Jim Bob and Michelle welcomed three grandchildren. Last April, Jill gave birth to her first child, Israel, with husband Derick Dillard. Daughter in law Anna gave birth to her fourth child with Josh, Meredith, in July, while Jessa gave birth to her first child with Ben Seewald last month.
