This coming weekend, fans of Teresa and Joe Giudice will get a glimpse of the family's life while Teresa is serving the rest of her jail sentence in the federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut. In a new Bravo special called "Teresa Checks In," cameras will focus on Joe and how he and their four daughters cope with Teresa's absence.

A few days before the show's premiere, Joe gave some new details about their home life without Teresa. During an interview with E! News, the 43-year old said that his wife's time in prison has been hard on him and his daughters Gia, 14; Gabriella, 11; Milania, 9; and Audriana, 5.

Joe shared that a lot of times they feel really sad because of Teresa's absence, but it is especially hard for the girls whenever they see their friends with their moms.

"We're doing what we have to do to get by 'til she gets home. I mean, it hasn't been easy," Joe said.

And though they communicate with the cookbook author through email and phone calls, Joe says that it's not quite the same.

"I always wish she was here," he said.

In another interview, with Today's Tamron Hall, Joe admitted that he blames himself for Teresa's prison sentence, saying that he was the one who was supposed to go to jail, and not her.

"I was to blame," he said to Hall. "I took full responsibility for everything, but they still put her away. I mean, I was supposed to go away, not her."

Joe will be heading to prison following Teresa's prison sentence. He will be serving 41 months in prison after pleading guilty to fraud last March. Teresa started serving her 15-month prison sentence on Jan. 5 and will be released for home confinement on Dec. 23.

Joe said that he is looking forward to spending some quality time with his wife before he goes to prison, saying that he wants to spend every night with Teresa before he reports to jail.

"Teresa Checks In" premieres on Sunday at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
