With the success that the box-office hit "Jurassic World" garnered, with its over $1.5 billion in total sales, it's safe to assume that there will be a sequel soon. Recent rumors also indicate that the dinosaur-infested film will be seeing some familiar faces by the time "Jurassic World 2" arrives in cinemas in 2018.

A tweet by the film's official Twitter account teased fans about the possibility of the return of Laura Dern and Sam Neill. Dern played the role of Dr. Ellie Sattler in the 1993 "Jurassic Park" film, and Neill was present in two "Jurassic Park" films, in the 1993 and 2001 movies, as Dr. Alan Grant.

The tweet reads, "If @starwars can include original cast in their new trilogy, so can @JurassicPark! RT if you agree! #JurassicWorld."

Stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are also confirmed to return for the second instalment of "Jurassic World," portraying their roles as Claire and Owen. Reports however say that there might be a switch in the importance of the roles, and Howard will this time be the main character for the second film.

Steven Spielberg will be taking the reigns as executive producer for "Jurassic World 2," while writing and directing duties will be placed on Colin Trevorrow. When asked about what the plot for part two will be, Trevorrow had only great ambitions for a bigger and deeper plot.

"I feel like the idea that this isn't always going to be limited to theme parks, and there are applications for this science that reach far beyond entertainment." Trevorrow said to Wired. "And when you look back at nuclear power and how that started, the first instinct was to weaponise it and later on we found it could be used for energy."

"Jurassic World 2" is scheduled to be released on June 7, 2018 in the U.K. and June 22, 2018 in the U.S.
