Barry Allen in "Justice League"

For a while now, it has been rumored that the possibility of having a "Flashpoint" movie made would highly depend on the success and reception of the upcoming "Justice League." It seems that the possibility is high, due to a new report that came up revealing that Ezra Miller's Barry Allen was one of the best parts of the upcoming film.

This report stems from the Wall Street Journal, which also revealed that the "Flashpoint" movie has become a priority in DC Films, as told by Warner Bros. movie division president Toby Emmerich. The report also goes on to say how the speedster is being received among the studio's executives. The young and socially awkward Barry Allen, who hides his fear through his humor, is reportedly thought by the studio's executives as the film's breakout character.

According to Ben Fritz, the author of the report, he said that the film is close to getting a director. This news of a potential greenlight follows what Variety's Justin Kroll said regarding Warner Bros. waiting to move forward with "Flashpoint" as well as the other movies on the DC film slate. These feature characters like Cyborg and the Green Lantern Corps, all of which are dependent on the success of "Justice League."

"A little insider tidbit, so I've been tracking various movies in this world, director-wise, especially "Flashpoint." I've heard they've slowed that search down to see how this film does because I don't know if they're giving everyone their own movie now. "Aquaman" is already shot," said Kroll.

At the question of the Cyborg solo movie lacking a director, Kroll said that the search will not be happening anytime soon, neither is the sequel to "Man of Steel."

Although the buzz surrounding "Justice League" may have played a part in "Flashpoint" moving forward, Emmerich's confidence in the speedster being made public after Kroll's comments can be quite confusing.

Should "Flashpoint" really move forward, Miller knows who he would like to see in the upcoming film. In an interview with ComicBook.com, Miller revealed that he would love to see "The Walking Dead" actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan assume the role of Thomas Wayne, who instead becomes the Dark Knight in the "Flashpoint" comics.

Miller also expressed his excitement about his fellow co-stars, Kiersey Clemons who will be playing Iris West, and Billy Crudup who will be playing Barry's father, Henry Allen.

"Flashpoint" does not have a release date yet, but fans can see Miller's take on Barry Allen when "Justice League" premieres on Nov. 17.
