With one year left before the boy group reaches its seventh year, EXO talks about its hopes to break the so-called seven-year-jinx.

In an interview with South Korea's "Section TV" aired on Sunday, the group was shown in Dubai, where they were to watch the Dubai Fountain Show with their song "Power."

They were each asked how they hope to survive the legendary seven-year-curse on Korean girl and boy groups. The said jinx has seen many acts disbanding after they or their respective agencies refuse to renew their contracts after the initial seven years. These acts include Wonder Girls, Sistar, 4Minute, 2NE1, and most recently, Miss A.

Chanyeol (Park Chanyeol) kicked it off by crediting their strong bond. "We frequently gather to talk things out and when there's a difference of opinions, we discuss it and always try to find a middle ground," he opened up.

The other members agreed and said their leader Suho (Kim Jun Myeon) is the core of their teamwork. "He's the driving force of our team," they added.

Chen (Kim Jong Dae) followed up by saying Suho has always had an "upstanding personality," like that of a model student. "His image hasn't changed from the very beginning, and I think that's why he's our leader," he shared.

The total opposite goes for their maknae, or youngest member Sehun. The members said he is the one who has changed a lot since their debut, pointing out that he was still in high school and even had lots of baby fats when they started. Now, Sehun is the symbol of masculinity among many Korean idols.

"He couldn't even look us in the eye in the beginning," joked Baekhyun (Byun Baekhyun). "And look at him now, he's even sitting with his legs closed!"

With EXO's strong bond and top-selling albums, looks like their fanbase EXO-L has nothing to worry about.
