"Kingdom Hearts" fans are in for a treat as the package art for the three games in the series contains a secret message that points to "Kingdom Hearts III."

Square Enix's game director Tetsuya Nomura has revealed an important message that can be found on the cover art of the previous "Kingdom Hearts" games. Nomura said in an interview with the Japanese Dengeki PlayStation magazine, translated by KH13: "There are actually two secrets about the illustrations from 'Kingdom Hearts 1.5' until'Kingdom Hearts 2.8.' Extremely attentive 'Kingdom Hearts' fans might have already discovered them, but one is that Sora's movements change from sitting, to standing, to walking."

He also added, "One more is that when you line up the three illustrations, you'll notice that they show the flow of time with changes in the sky. 'Kingdom Hearts 1.5' is sunset becoming night, 'KingdomHearts 2.5' is the middle of the night, and 'Kingdom Hearts 2.8' is night breaking into dawn. Those three illustrations have a message regarding the final chapter, 'Kingdom Hearts III."

Additionally, the game director also mentioned that Sora and Aqua will have different actions available when the game arrives. The former has an option to change his keyblade, which gives him more actions to choose from. Aqua's character does not have such an option.

Moreover, the game director also took the opportunity to personally apologize to game fans for the delay of the release of "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue." The game was originally set to roll out in December, but it was moved to January 2017.

Nomura then promised the fans that there would be more news about "Kingdom Hearts III" once "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" has been released, Siliconera reported.

"Kingdom Hearts III" is an upcoming action role-playing game that is being developed by Square Enix. The studio is currently working on several projects.

As of writing, there is no release date announced for the upcoming game.

The first game of the series was released in 2002, and it will be celebrating its 15th year anniversary in 2017. A concert series has been scheduled by the studio to celebrate the game's monumental milestone.
