The makers of the "Kingsman" franchise hinted that a third installment is on the way, with Matthew Vaughn still directing.

At a Blu-ray event for "Kingsman: The Golden Circle," visual effects supervisor Angus Bickerton told CBR that the director, who helmed the first two installments, might be making a comeback for a "Kingsman 3."

"We've had the briefest of conversations with Matthew about it... he's got plans," he said.

Prior to the release of "The Golden Circle" in September, Vaughn already shared his plans to create not just sequels but also spin-offs to the spy-comedy franchise.

"I think there's a story in my head, which will be finished by the end of the next one. And then after that then, of course, there could be Statesman movies, there could be spinoff character films," Vaughn told Cinemablend.

He added that the "Kingsman" universe could expand with new agents, suggesting that Colin Firth (Harry Hart) could replace Arthur, new characters could be brought in, and new kids could be trained.

"There's so many options, but I also think it's better not to be too greedy," he said.

The first film, "Kingsman: The Secret Service," was loosely based on the spy comics "Kingsman" written by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. Millar earlier told Screenrant that he trusts Vaughn with all the film adaptations. He served as executive producer in the first film, but completely gave up the reins for the second installment.

"The success of the first movie kind of caught me off-guard," he shared. This led Millar to commit to six new comic book franchises with six different artists.

"I didn't have time to get involved," he added.

His trust in Vaughn was fully rewarded when "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" grossed over $395 million worldwide. That is a few million lower than the first installment's $414 million, but still good enough to bring in a total of $809 million for the franchise.
