Morale will drop low in "The Last Ship" season 2 episode 10, titled "Friendly Fire," as a suspicious death on board the ship forces Commander Tom Chandler (Eric Dane) to conduct a murder investigation. Knowing that someone they trust and live with could be a murderer in their midst is not going to sit well with the rest of the ship's crew.

Starting a murder investigation causes dissent and unrest in the crew, not just because it means danger lurks in every corner but because the murderer could be anyone in the ship. Trust and morale drop low as the crew begins to doubt and suspect anyone they come across.

This issue is further heightened as Dr. Rachel Scott (Rhona Mitra) continues to work on making a more efficient version of the cure, one that works as advertised and also one that works much quicker. Her safety and the cure's safety are now at risk until Chandler and his team can find and stop the mysterious killer.

Episode 10 won't just deal with a single, unidentified killer as the official synopsis and promotional trailer reveal that the Immunes are not done causing havoc despite their massive defeat. They'll be coming back as the USS Nathan James heads follow a rumor after receiving information from the current U.S. President, Michener (Mark Moses).

Michener, formerly the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, only became President because he is the only surviving member of the Cabinet of the United States. More important, however, is the information he shared that now leads the USS Nathan James to New Orleans.

There are only a few episodes left after "Friendly Fire" which means the fate of the cure and the condition of the U.S. government — or what remains of it — will be revealed in the upcoming episodes.

"The Last Ship" season 2 episode, "Friendly Fire," airs on Aug. 16.
