Game developers Valve would always make two games for their game series and never give it a third title just like "Half-Life" and "Left 4 Dead." "Half-Life 3" rumors are nothing new but "Left 4 Dead 3" is still quite new to the rumor scene. While reports already say that the hints for a third title for "Left 4 Dead" is a hoax, there are still a few more evidences that can help say otherwise.

This sort of new leak for the potential "Left 4 Dead 3" actually came out in the patch notes for another game, "CS:GO," as per GameRevolution. Although it is quite small, it can be the hope that many "Left 4 Dead" fans can cling on to. After all, even the smallest leaks still count.

"CS:GO" recently had a patch that contained an interestingly weird line. In the patch notes, a part reads "added ashtray for smokers." As a shooting game, it would be weird to see an ashtray placed for "smokers." While there are smoke grenades and such, they are usually indicated in patch notes as "smokes."

Although the fact remains that this appears in a totally different game, it is worth noting that Valve was also behind "CS:GO." This adds to the other clues that are now thought to be a hoax. One of the biggest "leaks" came from the "Left 4 Dead 2" official Facebook page which was recently taken down.

As mentioned in Reddit, the cover photo of the said page was that of a zombie hand with three fingers similar to the two fingers of "Left 4 Dead 2." It also took on the name of Ted Carson who was also involved in previous leaks who was said to be working on "Left 4 Dead 3." Although convincing, reports now say that, as pointed out by other fans, the photo came from the original "Left 4 Dead" game and that the Facebook account may have been hacked hencing being shut down.

As of now, Valve has not said anything about these alleged leaks let alone anything about "Lead 4 Dead 3." It looks like Valve is staying true to how they only release two games in the game series they make.
