The FX science fiction television series, "Legion," has experienced an unexpected turn with the sudden departure of "Wonder Woman" actor, Saïd Taghmaoui, who played the villain Amahl Farouk better known as the Shadow King. Taghmaoui's exit was quite untimely, especially since the production of season 2 has not even wrapped up yet. At this point, it is still unclear as to why Taghmaoui had to leave the show so soon.

In a report by the International Business Times, The FX network has been discussing a replacement for the role of Farouk, but has yet to reveal the actor's identity. Taghmaoui took to his Instagram page and posted a picture of him with prosthetic fingers and in make-up with the caption stating, "Finally I'm not going to be in 'Legion.'" It included the hashtag #thankgodforeverything. Additionally, Taghmaoui stated that fans are in for a surprise.

It is safe to assume that there were no behind-the-scenes disagreements or complications in productions — especially since the Shadow King in the story is a psychologically powerful being that is able to possess others.

According to Variety, a representative spokesperson from the FX network had confirmed that Taghmaoui was indeed leaving the show, but given that season 2 just started production last September, it is possible that not many scenes of Taghmaoui have been shot, given the very short time-frame. When the press attempted to ask about the reason behind Taghmaoui's exit, his representatives refused to comment on the matter.

Bleeding Cool speculates that it is perhaps possible that Taghmaoui's scenes could be scrapped entirely. Since there is very little information as to what happened behind the scenes, the eventual new actor could replace Taghmaoui entirely – unless the script writers find a way to incorporate the actor within the current flow of production, which should not be hard to do.

Season 2 of "Legion" is scheduled to premiere on early 2018 on FX.
