Chinese smartphone manufacturer Lenovo has apparently teased a new flagship coming out next month.

A tweet by Lenovo India hinted at a new successor coming out soon. According to the post, fans should prepare for the coming of a "KillerNote." While there was no mention of which flagship the company might be referring to, observers guessed that Lenovo will be releasing a follow-up to the K3 Note flagship.

In a report by GSM Arena, it is presumed that the yet-unnamed upcoming flagship will be the K4 Note. The industry follower added that since the teaser came from the India branch of the China-based company, fans may expect the new K4 Note to launch in India first, with global release schedules to follow.

The report also mentioned that the launch will happen in January, with the specific release date set to be announced soon.

PC Tablet India also heard of the rumored January outing, adding that while the specs sheet for the upcoming flagship has yet to come out, it is rumored that the new K4 Note will be powered by a MediaTek Helio X10 chipset. In addition, as a mark of a premium flagship, the upcoming iteration will also sport an all-metal unibody frame and a fingerprint scanner, two features that were absent on the K3 Note.

As for the other features, the K4 Note may retain the same general specs of its predecessor. The K3 Note features a 5.5-inch IPS display, and the K4 Note will apparently be the same size. However, instead of the 2-GB RAM and 16-GB internal storage of the previous iteration, the K4 Note is expected to come out with at least 3 GB of RAM and a minimum of 32 GB of storage onboard.

While the specific release date for the K4 Note is still unknown, Gadgets 360 hopes that the upcoming flagship will retain a budget-friendly price range. The industry follower pointed out that one of the main selling points of the K3 Note when it launched was that the flagship had a competitive price point with above-average specs.
