Lenovo will join other tech giants in unveiling new smartphone iterations at the upcoming Mobile World Congress. However, since the tech manufacturer only recently made the announcement, no details are available on what the new product will be, aside from the launch confirmation. There are speculations that the new product may be an unlocked version of the Lemon 3 flagship, to be released in the global market.

According to a tweet by Lenovo India, the new device will make its debut at the upcoming MWC. The announcement read, "A gorgeous new device has been engineered from scratch to deliver the #Knockout punch. Brace yourselves."

It is interesting to note that in the announcement, the "Knockout" tag is highlighted, which may be a hint at an additional K-series flagship. The image posted with the announcement hints at an all-metal iteration (at least for its frame), which teases that the next Lenovo smartphone may offer above-average to premium features.

However, according to some observers, the upcoming unveiling by Lenovo may be the global release for its newly launched Lemon 3. According to GSM Arena, the image in the announcement looks similar to the Lemon 3, which was introduced by Lenovo exclusively for the Chinese market last month. The industry follower added that should this be the case, the global release of the Lemon 3 will most likely start with India, seeing that it was the area's social media account that made the announcement.

Should the teaser be about the release of the Lemon 3 iteration in the global market, Lenovo will be adding another unlocked, globally recognized mid-range offering to the company lineup. The Lemon 3 has mid-range to above-average specs, like a 5-inch display with 1080p resolution, a Snapdragon 616 core paired with 2 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD support.
