Lenovo loyalists are well aware of the fact that the computer manufacturing company has been on a mobile launching spree. The Moto G4, then the G4 Plus, and the G4 Play, were all made official. Lenovo also gave us the much loved Moto Z and the Z Force.

And now, the next arrival on the block may be the Lenovo Vibe P2. It is speculated that the device is codenamed on this Geekbench Browser listing as Lenovo P2c72, and if this is indeed true, then the specs listed therein seem impressive, to say the least.

As International Business Times reports, the Lenovo P2 is likely to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, a 2GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU, and a 4GB RAM. The operating system in the new smartphone is rumored to be Android 6.1 Marshmallow, and the premium handset is said to have scored 4896 in the multi-core test and 922 in the single-core test.

Preceding the Vibe P2 were last year's Lenovo Vibe P1, and the Vibe P1 Turbo that was launched in February this year. If the rumored specs for the Vibe P2 turn out to be true, the new device may surpass both its predecessors. To recall, the Vibe P1 featured a Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB RAM, and this was upgraded to a 3GB RAM in the P1 Turbo. That was an improvement, yes, although a minor one.

While the other specs in the upcoming smartphone remain a mystery, let's take a moment to reflect upon the fact that the Vibe P1 featured a 13MP primary camera with an LED flash and a 5MP front camera. It was also loved for the fingerprint scanner embedded in its home button. If the Vibe P2 is being designed to surpass its predecessors in every aspect, we wonder what other super features Lenovo will incorporate into its new device, whose release date remains unknown.
