Another astronomical phenomenon that should delight sky watchers is happening this November.

The November sky is bringing yet another spectacular lights show when the annual Leonid meteor shower peaks this week.

According to the Weather Network, the meteor shower will peak on Nov. 17 through 18. At its apex, the Leonid meteor shower will bring about 10 to 20 meteors per hour.

This year, the peak of the meteor shower, during which people can see the greatest number of meteors per hour, is happening on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at night all through Wednesday, Nov. 18, just before dawn local time.

The moon will set at 10 p.m. local time on Tuesday, which is a good thing as the ideal conditions should give viewers the chance to catch the bright showers.

A live show featuring the Leonids will be held on Nov. 17, 8 p.m. EST, which will be hosted by the Slooh Community Observatory. The live broadcast will be bring different views of the sky from various locations on four continents.

Considered by CBS News as one of the most anticipated meteor showers of the year, the Leonids are reputed to showcase amazing light displays in the sky, but the same thing might not be said for 2015.

Al.com noted that the 2015 Leonids won't be as bright as the ones back in 1998. Nevertheless, it is still one of those sky shows that's worth watching. Just find an ideal spot, away from city lights and wait when streaks of light start to appear from above.

As with other meteor showers, the Leonids are remnants of a comet, the Tempel-Tuttle comet, which goes around the sun every 33 years. Once the comet gets too close to the sun, it disperses into fine bits, which will then find their way into the Earth's atmosphere every year in November.
