MacBook Air Retina 2014 will have an updated specs and features while maintaining the low price point as per the latest development.

Reports claimed that Apple will maintain the price of MacBook Air while offering upgraded specs and features. It was also said that all the unimportant yet expensive hardware will be removed and will be replaced by a powerful processor, a faster flash storage, 802.11 ac Wi-Fi connectivity as well as longer battery life of up to 12 hours.

Apple hoped that the combination of improved hardware and cost effective will greatly appeal to consumers. The upcoming MacBook Air Retina will be powered by the fourth generation processors of Core i5 and i7 chips from Intel. It was also expected that the new laptop will bring Intel HD Graphics 500, 4 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage.

Rumors also claimed that the upcoming MacBook Air with Retina Display aimed to be the thinnest laptop to ever walk the market. According Motoring Crunch, the fan from the machine will be removed to make more room in the device and to make it slimmer.

Reliable analyst Ming Chi Kuo of KGI Securities stated that the new MacBook Air will be "lighter and slimmer" than the current model for portability. He added that the new laptop will also pack a modified trackpad.

Rumor has it that the new notebook will pack a 12-inch screen as well as the upcoming new OS X software, Intel processor and a new graphics chip as well as a longer battery life.

MacBook Air Retina 2014 release date was speculated to happen at Apple's annual Worldwide Developers' Conference in June alongside the company's mobile software, iOS 8, and other devices such as the upgraded MacBook Pro and new iMac. However, Apple still has not confirmed the release date of MacBook Air Retina as well as the rumors surrounding it.
