Macbook Pro 2013 release imminent after Apple launches new iMacs today with upgraded specs, features
Apple has refreshed its line of iMacs this morning, announcing the upgrade on its website.
The tech company refreshed its range of iMacs, adding improved processors, graphics and faster flash storage.
The entry level 21.5-inch iMac features a 2.7 GHz to 3.4 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 1TB hard drive and new Iris Pro graphics. It starts at $1,299.
Other models include the NVIDIA GeForce 700 series graphics, offering twice the video memory of last year's model.
The new iMac range now supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi, which will be compatible with Apple's latest Airport Extreme and Time Capsule.
The 27-inch model entry level costs $1,799 and packs a 3.2 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.6 GHz, 8GB RAM, 1 TB hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M and 1GB video memory,
The design of the iMacs have not changed since the look was overhauled last year.
Although Apple quietly launched its new range of iMacs, the Cupertino-based company remains tight-lipped on its latest Macbook Pro range.
Apple unveiled its new line of Macbook Airs in June, and they have yet to announce the upgraded specs for the Macbook Pro.
However, customers already know what to expect based on the specs of the latest iMacs.
The new Macbook Pro 2013 is expected to pack the all new 4th generation Intel Haswell processor with upgraded graphics, which will vastly improve battery life. The Pros will also support the latest 802.11 Wi-fi and may also support 4k display technology.
With the release of the new iMacs today, expect to hear an announcement from Apple about its Macbook Pro line very soon. According to latest rumors, Apple may release its upgraded Macbook Pros at its October 15 iPad event where they will reveal the new iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2. However, nothing has been confirmed as of yet and customers will just have to wait a little bit longer to upgrade their Macbook Pros.
