Apple fans looking to get their hands on the company's latest lineup of laptops may not have to wait for too long, as certain variants of the MacBook Pro 2016 series may be released as early as March.

Recently, Digitimes was able to speak to their sources within the Apple supply chain, and they revealed that new 12 and 13.3-inch MacBooks may be available as early as the end of the first quarter.

If those new MacBooks are not ready by the end of the first quarter, then they may still be available near the start of the second quarter.

New details about the supposed window of availability for this year's MacBook Pros is significant because it falls in line with earlier rumors that have suggested that Apple is planning something big for March.

As MacRumors noted, Apple is supposedly planning to host a special event this March and the company could use that to formally launch their newest line of laptops.

More specifically, the 12 and 13.3-inch variants of the MacBook Pro 2016 could be launched at this upcoming event.

If Apple is unable to have the new laptops ready by March, then they may still be launched a bit later on, possibly during the company's WWDC event expected to take place in June.

While the smaller variants of the MacBook Pro 2016 may be released as early as March, the same can, apparently, not be said for the larger, 15-inch version.

The 15-inch MacBook Pro 2016 models may not be available until the third quarter, and that would translate to a later release timeline.

The larger version of the MacBook Pro 2016 may not be officially released until sometime around July or September, so Apple fans who are eyeing this model will have to wait for a while.

With the March event looming, Apple may be set to release more official details about the MacBook Pro 2016 lineup sooner rather than later.
