It has been a week since game developer 2K games officially released "Mafia 3" to the public, and several reviews have already sprouted all over the internet stating both the pros and cons of the third-person action shooter game.

A "Mafia 3" review was impossible to construct before the title was officially launched since gaming sites weren't given pre-release copies by 2K games. But as the game was released, sites have now voiced out their opinions on the latest "Mafia" game installment.

The last "Mafia" game — "Mafia 2" — was released back in 2010. With approximately six years to work on "Mafia 3," fans expect the game to be as advanced as other games that were released in 2016.

So far, according to several reviews, "Mafia 3" boasts an interesting and well-told storyline. However, the game was found to lack diversity when it comes to the main character's missions.

"Mafia 3" has a storyline that portrays racism, betrayal, revenge, and oppression. Players will be asked to take on the role of Lincoln Clay, a Vietnam veteran who is out to avenge his family that was murdered by the Italian mob in the fictional city of New Bordeaux. To do so, Lincoln must gather a team that will help him take down criminal rackets, as well as systematically neutralize the city mob.

"Mafia 3" was deemed a good game that sports great audio and an explorable open world.

Unfortunately, the game lacks certain fan-favorite features such as a Fast-travel feature that would enable the character to swiftly move along the map. The lack of a Fast-travel feature would have players go through every inch of the map via car or walking, which can be very time-consuming for impatient players.

Fortunately, to make up for the bad reviews the game is getting because of its poor visuals, repetitive mission types, and fair share of bugs, a 137MB "Mafia 3" update has been made available for the PlayStation 4.

"We just released a hotfix to improve stability on PS4. We're working on more updates and will share details on them when we can," Hangar 13 said.

"We're working on updates for all platforms right now. We hope to share more soon to improve your experience in New Bordeaux," the developer added.

The update will provide players with new races, vehicle customization options, new weapons, and new character outfits.
