Unfortunately for the home club, Man City have won the last seven of their previous meetings and are holding a five-match unbeaten streak at The Hawthorns in Premier League play which includes four victories.

Manchester City also have won the last five of their six Premier League openers with the match they were able to win ending in a draw.

But West Brom will look to end those streaks and open their campaign with a win and they have defender James Chester, forward Rickie Lambert and midfielder James McClean to help them as the three aims to have an impressive debut for the club.

But a new acquistion would not be able to join the Baggies as midfielder Serge Gnabry's move from Arsenal was completed late according to BBC Sports.

Meanwhile for Manchester City a debut is being waited upon as midfielder Raheem Sterling is set to play his first game for his new club after a long and drama-filled saga in his transfer from Liverpool.

Sterling's talent and skill were covered by all the issues that surrounded him during his troubles with the Reds but now that he moved to Man City he will have a chance to again show what he can do.

The 20-year-old is expected to be starting for Manchester City in their season opener.

But it is not all good news for City as they are set to play without midfielder Fabian Delph who suffered a hamstring injury in preseason and defender Gael Clichy who is being bothered by ankle woes.

The match between Manchester City and West Brom will be played on August 10 at 8 p.m. BST / 3 p.m. EDT and will be shown live on television and live stream via Sky Sports 1 and NBCSN.
