Top Rank CEO Bob Arum told The Telegraph recently that a fight between his prized fighter Manny Pacquiao and top contender Amir Khan is available and the British slugger is expecting the fight to take place.

Khan said in an interview on the Sports Tonight show on Dubai Eye 103.8, "Yes, I think the fight can happen. If it makes sense financially for both of us, then I think the fight will definitely take place."

"Fighting-style wise, Manny wasn't at his best against a defensive Mayweather, but with me I'm a totally different fighter. We both like to fight, move and both have tremendous hand speed. I think it would be amazing. I'd love to take that fight," the 28-year-old boxer added.

Khan believes the fight will be huge if it will be staged in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), mentioning Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and also the country of Qatar.

"All the major sports are going over there now, so why not take boxing there. Starting off with Amir Khan versus Manny Pacquiao would be massive out there. ... I think it would be one of the biggest fights ever," Khan said.

Khan and Pacquiao were stripped off the opportunity to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. after the unbeaten American selected Andre Berto to be his next and perhaps final opponent in his boxing career.

Mayweather's fight against Berto on Sept. 12 is potentially his last, as he said following his fight with Pacquiao that he plans to retire from the sport after the bout.

Khan was disappointed after not getting the fight against Mayweather since he really felt he deserved it after his May victory against Chris Algieri. Furthermore, he was linked to a fight against the unbeaten American a number of times already but was always getting rejected.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao is having a great recovery after undergoing shoulder surgery and said that one of his future plans is to get a rematch with Mayweather to whom he lost via unanimous decision.
