More than 2,000 people came to Westminster Chapel in central London to experience the best in worship teaching in the UK today.

The two-day Worship Central conference was led by Al Gordon and Tim Hughes, founders of the pioneering Worship Central movement.

Special guests included Delirious? frontman Martin smith, Phil Wickham, Mike Pilavachi, Nicky Gumbel, Ben Cantelon, Phil Wall, Mike Lloyd, Nick & Becky Drake, Alex Nifong, Luke Hellebronth, Nikki Fletcher and Beth Croft.

Worship Central is a school of worship from Alpha International with a vision to encounter God, equip the worshipper and empower the local church.

Founded in 2006, tens of thousands of worship leaders, musicians and worshippers have attended its training events around the world, and hundreds of thousands have used its online resources at worshipcentral.org

Nicky Gumbel, founder of the Alpha Course, spoke to the audience on encouragement, saying worship was for the whole body to be one with God.

Al Gordon reminded worship leaders of the first commandment to love God with all their heart, soul and mind.

"Worship is our purpose, we are created to worship whatever we respond in our lives, this is what it means to be alive.

"If we don’t worship God then we worship something else. Worship must be our priority," he said.

Tim Hughes told the crowds: "We have to be 100 per cent committed to God. Unless this happens we will miss out. Worship must be our priority.

"Although we are busy worship should be in all of our lives. The greatest gift of God is spending our lives in His presence."
