"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 ended with fans hanging on the edge of their seats because of a future scenario. Fans were able to witness what would happen six months ahead after the last events, where Daisy, (Chloe Bennet), was shown as a super-powered human, has gone rogue, and is now known as Quake. Viewers were also able to witness that Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) is not in control anymore of the super-secret S.H.I.E.L.D.

Based on Den of Geek's breakdown of the final scenes of the season finale of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," Coulson said, "Call the director, we struck out again," when Daisy got away. The seven words of Agent Coulson could have made fans jump from their seats. Fans are now wondering who will be in-charge of S.H.I.E.L.D. when the show returns. There were also questions left unanswered when the season ended, like whether Coulson was demoted or if he resigned from his position.

Maurissa Tancharoen, the show's co-runner, said, "We'll answer all of that in the beginning of next season. But there's a lot you can glean from that flash-forward, even in his [Coulson's] appearance. He's worse for wear, he's not wearing suits, he and Mack are holed up in that hotel room, he's obviously been on stakeout for a while. And obviously Daisy has changed her appearance and is a loner gone rogue."

Gregg also answered a releated question on Entertainment Weekly. He was asked about the identity of the new director. He answered, "I was not given a clear answer. I don't know that it's been determined. I thought I was going to find out when I saw 'Civil War,' but it's not at all clear. It all depends when the glorious Nick Fury [Samuel L. Jackson] returns from the cold and the shadows."

The actor added, "I suspect, in the wake of the Sokovia Accords and the end of 'Civil War,' the people involved in choosing who the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be are other than in-house S.H.I.E.L.D. people."

Fans are also speculating that Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter's (Nick Blood) will be back in super the  hero TV series since ABC has cancelled their spin-off show, "Marvel's Most Wanted."

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 is expected to premiere this fall on ABC.
