New details about the possible plot of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" have been leaked online through an EA marketing survey.

The leak was posted on NeoGAF by a user called anexanhume. An excerpt from the EA marketing survey reads:

"'Mass Effect: Andromeda' takes players to the Andromeda galaxy, far beyond the Milky Way, where players will lead the fight for a new home in hostile territory – where WE are the aliens – opposed by a deadly indigenous race bent on stopping us."

The marketing survey also mentions that "Mass Effect" players can take on the role of the head of the military-trained group of explorers who enjoy the freedom to traverse and roam around a dense but adventure-filled planet.

"This is the story of humanity's next chapter, and player choices throughout the game will ultimately determine our survival in the Andromeda Galaxy," the survey adds.

Other details about the upcoming game mentioned that the plot of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will feature a colossal, interplanetary battle among different creatures and species.

However, EA and game developer BioWare have yet to confirm the validity of the leaked information.

News about the development of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" was first revealed on Twitter by former executive producer Casey Hudson from BioWare Edmonton in November 2012. Then the game's development was officially announced during the E3 2014, where a video showing the game's early conceptual footage was unveiled.

In June 2015, BioWare Canada's studio general manager Aaryn Flynn revealed that the upcoming game will feature a new adventure that will be set in a faraway place after the events that happened during the original "Mass Effect" trilogy.

"You'll be exploring an all-new galaxy, Andromeda, and piloting the new and improved Mako you saw. And through it all, you will have a new team of adventurers to work with, learn from, fight alongside of, and fall in love with," Flynn mentioned on the official BioWare blog.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" was initially expected to be released in holiday 2016, but was reportedly delayed until 2017.
