McDonald's new dollar menu, dubbed as the "1-2-3 dollar menu," debuted in the United States last Jan. 4, spearheading the company's "offensive" business plan for 2018.

The dollar menu of the hit fast food chain features three distinct categories distinguished by price. These are the $1, $2, and $3 options.

The three choices feature an assortment of meals, centering on breakfast, burgers, fries, and chicken nuggets.

This customer-friendly twist from McDonald's is mostly rooted from its 41 percent growth last year, allowing the food chain to create a bold "offensive" business move to further increase its sales.

According to reports  from Consumer News and Business Channel (CNBC), Peter Saleh, an analyst from global financial firm BTIG, noted in his research that McDonald's new dollar menu will have a 13 percent discount for customers, making it a risky but bold move for the food chain.

"After several years of playing defense, we believe McDonald's is finally returning to an offensive strategy which will yield stronger comp growth and increased market share," Saleh wrote in a research note obtained by CNBC.

The new menu of the fast food chain should entice many customers because of its variety.

As it stands, many consumers have already tried using different combinations from the three categories to get the best return for their money. Some of these include pairing one Happy Meal ($3) with a Bacon Cheeseburger ($2).

The Happy Meal usually consists of fries, apples, juice, and a choice of either a hamburger or nuggets. Although designed for kids, adding an extra order from the 1-2-3 dollar menu would make it a grown man's meal.

Other options that customers can try include a sausage burrito, McChicken, and cheeseburgers each priced at $1. As for the second tier, McDonald's offers the aforementioned Bacon Cheeseburger, an assortment of small McCafe drinks, chicken tenders, and more.

Meanwhile, the $3 deal mainly consists of complete meals like the Happy Meal and Sausage McMuffin with eggs.

With a wide array of cheap offers, it is up to consumers to think of a gameplan to make the most out of McDonald's new dollar menu.
