Rumors about the next generation of Surface Pro from Microsoft have surfaced online. Could this mean that the Surface Pro 5 will soon be released in the market?

Conflicting speculations about the device's release date are being discussed online. According to a report from NVO News, Microsoft is gearing up for the release of the laptop-tablet hybrid in June or September.

Based on the report, Microsoft probably wants to release their fifth Surface Pro product this month to coincide with Apple Inc.'s launch event for their latest MacBook Pro line. Since the month already began without a word from the Redmond-based tech firm, it could mean that the device might probably come out in September.

Meanwhile, another report from The Country Caller claimed that Microsoft could further delay the release of the Surface Pro 5 to wait for the next-generation GPUs from AMD called Polaris or NVIDIA's Pascal.

According to the report, both GPUs could help the next Surface Pro product become more gaming-oriented and offer more functional features compared to its predecessors.

It also mentioned that the upcoming Surface Pro 5 will use the latest CPU from Intel called Kaby Lake to improve all the device's specs. Based on the report, Kaby Lake could serve as a gamechanger for the tech firm since this could only support Microsoft Windows 10.

If this report turns out to be true, this means that there will be no chance for Microsoft to release the device before Q3 of this year. This will debunk the rumored June 2016 release date, which means that Apple will release its next laptop device a few months earlier than Microsoft's Surface Pro 5.

At the moment, Microsoft continues its silence regarding the possible release date of the Surface Pro 5, but the firm is expected to reveal the official release date at the soonest possible time.
