Monolith Productions rolled out a brand-new, free content update for "Middle-Earth: Shadow of War," which includes the addition of Online Fight Pits.

The new feature allows players to train their best follower from the main game, pitting them in gladiatorial-style combat against the many Ologs and Uruks trained up by other players around the world for bounties including items and upgrades. To celebrate this extra mode's launch, publisher WB Games revealed a brand-new trailer that can be seen at the end of the article. It showcases some of the Online Fight Pits in all of its grisly and violent glory, providing a glimpse of how each match could go.

Apart from adding Online Fight Pits, the new patch also brings a few improvements including better Fight Pit pacing that now has a shorter fight timer and increased damage dealt. Playing a Nemesis Mission will now reset the cooldown for summoning bodyguard and beasts as well. Additional fixes include ones for the Online Vendetta black screen issue, incorrect Orc traits in the Online Conquest previous menu, and campaign audio issue in the first "Shadow of the Past" mission, among others.

The new "Middle-Earth: Shadow of War" update joins the previous one that added the fortress-defending Endless Siege mode, the Ologs- and Uruks-crushing Rebellion mode, and a new improved photo mode to the game.

After the Online Fighting Pits, Monolith Productions is adding a new difficulty setting next. Brutal Difficulty is due on Dec. 12, and more free stuff are coming next year as confirmed by WB Games' previous tweet. There is also a premium DLC called "Outlaw Tribe" set to be launched next week, to be followed by "Blade of Galadriel" in February 2018 and "The Desolation of Mordor" in May.

A sequel to "Middle-Earth: Shadow of Morder," "Middle-Earth: Shadow of War," is now available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
