Parent Television Council (PTC) in America has criticized Miley Cyrus' role in the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMA).

The council's president, Tim Winter, expects that the event will be "very sexually explicit" considering that Cyrus will be hosting the annual awards show.

PTC superiors have also slammed officials of MTV for making Cyrus the host, stating that the show will be unsuitable for young audiences.

In the last VMAs back in 2013, Cyrus made the news when she famously "twerked" on Robin Thicke, during their performance of "Blurred Lines," which was considered very controversial.

Winter went on record telling that the "Hannah Montana" star is not a good choice as a host for the event since the show will not be safe for children if she will be on it.

"It's not going to be safe for children to watch," the president told Gossip Cop.

He added that the show should have a TV-MA (for mature audiences only) rating. "With Miley's shtick, it's probably going to be very edgy, very profane, very sexually explicit," he said.

Cyrus made another appearance during the 2014 VMA after she was nominated for two awards for her hit single "Wrecking Ball." She was accompanied by her date, a homeless 22-year-old Jesse Helt, that time to receive the award.

Winter, who is a parent to a teenager, described the performance from 2013 as "clearly not appropriate for a 14-year-old," as reported in Gossip Cop.

He also said that the "We Can't Stop" singer was also dropping a lot of "F-bombs" when she made the hosting announcement on social media.

The PTC president, however, said he's not entirely anti-Miley as he acknowledged Cyrus as a performer who can do whatever she pleases and who's hired to perform and be the way she is.

All Winter wanted was for MTV not to show explicit content and that the show should carry an appropriate rating for the younger viewers.

The 2015 MTV VMAs will be held at Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater and will air live on MTV on Aug. 30.
