Will PC gamers see a flying "Minecraft" soon?

Jens Bergensten, the lead developer for "Minecraft" in the last four years, recently teased on Twitter that a snapshot of the new, "dramatic" feature for the sandbox game will be included in his next tweets.

True enough, his next series of Twitter posts came with numerous images that feature a flying character in the "Minecraft" universe who uses some sort of a magic cape. However, the tweets hinted that the flying cape cannot be crafted, and it can only be used when found.

Based on the snapshot, the cape folds up when the character is on the ground. But once used, it can help the character fly past its enemies. It can also help the players bring their chosen character to fly onto a strategically located boat and run away at the top speed.

In one of his tweets, the game developer shared the link to a Mojang blog post saying that the flying cape can "fly past the bad guys who are all shooting you with surprisingly bad accuracy, swoop down and land flawlessly into a strategically placed boat and then paddle away at moderately high speeds with the stolen prize pig in the back."

Mojang is known for constantly updating the popular sandbox survival game in different formats since it was first released in 2011. New features and content are added every once in a while, which is why the new flying feature is not unexpected.

But while Bergensten confirmed that the flying cape will be included in the "Minecraft" for PC edition, he did not mention anything about adding it in the console versions. It means that those who play "Minecraft" on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 should expect to wait for a little while before the flying cape reachs these platforms.
