'Minecraft' for XBox One, PS4: next-generation to feature better visuals and new skins

The Minecraft Xbox One Edition due to be out soon.Twitter

The refreshed version of the "Minecraft" game will feature improved visuals as well as new skins.

After the elaborate and controversial purchase made by Microsoft of the game, the tech company mentioned that the game will be upgraded. However, minimal changes should be expected on the next generation of the beloved video game.

First, the block-building game will get a pleasing visual upgrade and will sport a Full HD resolution. This is to adapt to the slew of screens supporting the aforementioned resolution, and to make the game more pleasing to the eye.

It has also been reported that each world will drastically increase in size. The new world is said to be 36 times bigger than the previous version, which could mean 36 times the effort and time to build an elaborate construction.

Lastly, a new set of "Minecraft" skins will be released this Friday. The new skins are Doctor Who-themed. The new skins will enable players to dress up their character as one of the several Doctors in the TV series as well as other characters. Included in the pack are the iconic villains such as Daleks and Weeping Angels for the Xbox 360 version.

Microsoft bought the game for an astounding 2 billion euros. The company said that the next-gen version of "Minecraft" will come to the different platforms – PC, PS4, and Xbox One. However, the company said that the PC and Xbox versions will be in priority.

The Xbox One edition will include some sample worlds such as Halo, Mass Effect and Skyrim-themed worlds, which may inspire players in making or constructing their own world. Moreover, if a gamer has played "Minecraft" before in PS3 and Xbox 360, the refreshed version will allow them to import the worlds they have created alongside any DLC they have bought.
