Minnesota Timberwolves NBA 2015 draft news, rumors: Who will Timberwolves pick?

The Minnesota Timberwolves won the NBA lottery the other day and that means that they will be selecting first in the upcoming NBA Draft. Chances are it will either be Jahlil Okafor or Karl-Anthony Towns. But if rumors are true, the T-Wolves may likely pick up Towns over Okafor.

Regardless of who they pick, the Timberwolves will now have three first-overall picks from the past three years.

It will be recalled that the team already has last year's NBA Rookie of the Year (Andrew Wiggins, 2014) and Anthony Bennett (2013), acquired in a deal last season involving Kevin Love. With that said, the wards of coach Flip Saunders could be a super team in the making.

The transformation will of course not happen overnight. It may take some time for coach Flip to whip up the team into a force to reckon with.

Paired with a hopefully healthy Ricky Rubio and Zack LaVine, the Wolves stand to improve dramatically.

Though there is no official word on who the team would draft, all points to it possibly be being Towns. There is word that Okafor could request Minnesota not to draft him since it looks like he has his mind set on being a Laker. The Los Angeles Lakers will select second after Minnesota.

With Towns looming to be their choice, the next question is will they keep him?

The T-Wolves could pull off a stunner, trading their pick for a more developed and seasoned player.

The reasoning behind this is that Towns is raw talent though he has a lot of room to improve.

Towns stands 6-foot-11 and is a good defender but his offensive side may need a lot of work to allow him to help in the scoring department. That is however a possibility and not something many believe will happen.

How fast the Timberwolves mature will also be a concern and hopefully once the time is right, all three top picks are still around.
