With the Major League Baseball postseason returning, ten hopeful teams aim to triumph in the World Series for 2014, although only two will be battling it out in the final game.

This Tuesday, the Kansas City Royals won over the Oakland Athletics, whereas the San Francisco Giants eliminated the Pittsburgh Pirates in their wild card game this Wednesday. San Francisco will be advancing and facing the Washington Nationals in the upcoming Division Series matchup starting Oct. 3.

The Giants triumphed and earned their eighth consecutive postseason game, thus they now have a longer winning streak as they have already attained a whopping seven wins in elimination games. The performance of Madison Bumgarner, in particular, had been deemed the strongest factor that contributed to the Giants' consistent advantage over the Pirates. Fans can now expect the Giants to turn up at the AT&T Park for Game 3 on Monday.

"They have that DNA," Giants manager Bruce Bochy commented, referring to the team's performance, "and they found it again today."

The two American League Division series will start this Thursday and the two National League Division Series will begin this Friday. Meanwhile, the American League Championship Series and the National League Championship Series begin this coming Oct. 10 and 11, respectively, which will highlight the seven-game format that will be followed for the rest of the playoffs. The World Series will start this Oct. 21.

On Oct. 3, fans can also look forward to a number of games including Game 2 of the ALDS (Detroit Tigers vs. Baltimore Orioles) at 12:07 p.m. on TBS. Game 1 of the NLDS will showcase a match between the San Francisco Giants, and the Washington Nationals at 3:07 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.

Meanwhile, Game 1 of NLDS with the St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers will also be shown on the same channel at 6:37 p.m. Finally, Game 2 for the ALDS with the Kansas City Royals and Los Angeles Angels will air at 9:37 p.m. on TBS.
