More than 200 hopefuls audition for Premier's new gospel choir

More than 200 choir hopefuls descended on Pimlico, central London, on Saturday for a chance to be part of Premier's new gospel choir.

The audition was a cross between 'Last Choir Standing' and 'XFactor' minus Simon Cowell.

People queued for up to five hours outside Premier's studios for their turn to audition in front of a panel that included soul legend Jocelyn Brown.

The hopefuls included Italians, Belgians and Ukrainians all living in London.

Premier Gospel presenters DJ Leah and MC Timmy were on hand to keep those waiting in line in good spirits.

Also there to judge the talent was Premier Radio host, singer and songwriter John Pantry and choir director Marcia McPherson.

The queue was whittled down to 60 potentials who will return final auditions at the Emmanuel Centre in central London on 19 March.
