Most of the online community was wondering what tech giants would do after Apple unveiled the Apple Watch during its Spring Forward event on March 9. Other makers like Huawei and LG chose to pre-empt Apple with the announcement of their wearables at the earlier-concluded Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. 

Motorola, on the other hand, chose not to come up with a new wearable at this stage. Rather, the tech giant went ahead and pushed for a novel idea — customization. For this, Motorola introduced Moto Maker for Moto 360. 

Moto Maker was introduced as a way for Motorola fans to personalize their phones with a wide range of designs. With the popularity of the Moto 360 smartwatch, one of the first wearables on the Android Wear line, the company hopes to take advantage of the fame by broadening the personalization of the Moto 360, letting shoppers follow their own tastes for the watch's design. 

In the Moto Maker page, fans can select from a variety of designs for the color and material of the strap, and also the case finish on the wearable itself. They can choose dark metal, light metal, or champagne gold finishes, and then go on to check which among the nine wearable bands they like. Shoppers also have strap options to choose from – 18 mm, 22 mm, 23 mm, and 24 mm in leather or metal. Aside from this, they can also choose among 11 watch faces to go with their wearable, and mix and match the faces through Google Play. 

Prices vary, depending on the material that a customer will go for. A light or dark metal finish with a leather band, the simplest design, is priced at $249. There will be an additional $30 for the exquisite champagne gold finish and $50 more to upgrade to metal bands.
