After Elliot Alderson and the rest of the fsociety members managed to take down one of the biggest corporations in the world by hacking their most controversial files in the first season of "Mr. Robot," fans of the USA Network series are now eager to find out where the plot will lead to in season 2.

Rami Malek, who portrays the role of disturbed computer engineer turned vigilante hacker Alderson, believes that the show became a huge success because of the timeliness of its plot.

"The way it's caught on with what seems to be a massive audience is something that I'm very proud of and humbled by," the actor exclusively told Entertainment Weekly during People magazine's "One to Watch" red carpet event held in Los Angeles last week. "There's a part of it that's anticipating events in a climate where anything can happen. To pinpoint certain things the way we do is scary and enticing at the same time."

During the first season, Elliot was enticed to join the cyber-vigilante group called fsociety by the mysterious insurrectional anarchist referred to only as Mr. Robot (Christian Slater). They aimed to work their way into the secured systems of a big-time international corporation called E Corp and cancel all debts of its consumers.

By the end of the first season, the world was disrupted by the chaos that resulted from the fall of E Corp., while the viewers found out that Mr. Robot is actually Elliot's deceased father who returned as a figment of his imagination.

Despite fsociety's success, fans of the show have no idea where the story will delve into next, and Malek said he wants to take his time analyzing the events that happened in the first season before making a prediction for season 2.

"I hate to think about those issues because I feel like everything that we do touch upon ends up being something that can cause massive damage to our societies, so I'd rather not anticipate the things that are going to happen," the actor stated.

But before "Mr. Robot" starts hacking into other evil institutions in its sophomore season, Malek, Slater, and co-star Portia Doubleday will first infiltrate the 2015 New York Comic Con in a press panel that will be hosted by the cable network on Oct. 9.
