After its successful first season run, USA Network's widely praised "Mr. Robot" series now has a possible release date.

Several reports claim that the sophomore season of the psychological drama series will start shooting in April and return sometime in June or July next year.

The series centers on the life of Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek), a disturbed cyber expert working as a security engineer at Allsafe Cybersecurity who was recruited by a guy named Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) to join the vigilante hacker group fsociety and help take down the multinational business giant E Corp.

But before the end of the series, the viewers found out that Mr. Robot is actually a figment of Elliot's imagination based on the image of his dead father.

Series creator Sam Esmail previously told The Hollywood Reporter what viewers should expect in season 2.

"I've always said that the first season was the first act of my feature, so this is what I meant. I wanted the story of Mr. Robot to be Elliot actually accomplishing his goal, setting the world into chaos," the series creator shared.

"What would happen to society if something like this occurred where, basically, if the consumer debt industry were to be erased? What are the economics of that? What would the world look like? Would there be a revolution? Would governments take over? Would businesses take over? To me, that canvas was something I was interested in exploring so, for me, that's what that last scene sets up. We're about to watch Rome burn. That's the world Elliot's going to enter next season."

Esmail also revealed that Elliot's past will be further explored next season. In the same interview, the series creator said that season 1 barely scratched the surface of Elliot's emotional journey. But in the second season, Elliot and his family will be featured. It means that his relationship with his sister Darlene (Carly Chaikin) will be a focus in "Mr. Robot" season 2.
