Sandbox roleplaying game (RPG) "My Time at Portia" entered early access on Jan. 24. The game is currently available for $20.

The synopsis on Steam reads: "Start a new life in the enchanting town of Portia! Restore your Pa's neglected workshop to its former glory, grow crops, raise animals, befriend the town's quirky inhabitants and uncover the mysteries this charming post-apocalyptic land has forgotten!"

"My Time at Portia" is a colorful and quirky post-apocalyptic game that relies heavily on building, crafting, and gathering. The game is somewhat similar to "Minecraft" and "Stardew Valley" wherein players need to work to improve their home and build things to open up new opportunities for their player characters – better tools lead to better buildings and more crafting options.

According to PC Gamer, despite being in early access "My Time at Portia" has 25 hours or so of gameplay to offer. Aside from that, players who are unsure about whether or not they want to purchase the game can download the demo and give the game a free try to get a feel for the in-game mechanics.

Pathea Games (the developers of "My Time at Portia") still has a long list of quests and map areas they would like to add to the game, but until then, players will have to make due with fixing their dad's workshop, farming, battling baddies, making friends, and being a part of the Portia online community.

When "My Time at Portia" will be leaving early access is still unclear, however, PC Gamer mentioned that Pathea Games plan to up the price once the game is completed.

Despite the game's recent release, it has received very positive reviews from gamers who purchased it. According to several of the comments on the game's Steam page, "My Time at Portia" made a good impression and when games are new, that tends to go a long way. Many updates will be coming in the foreseeable future, alongside new gaming mechanics like animal taming and animal riding.
