The news is finally out: Rajon Rondo will be traded off to Dallas Mavericks. 

According to the sources of ESPN.com, Boston Celtics and the Mavericks already made an agreement to trade the All-Star point guard for several Mavs players, including Jae Crowder, Brandan Wright, Jameer Nelson, as well as a first-round draft pick in the 2015 draft as well as a secnd-round draft pick in 2016. 

Rondo will be joining other high-profile Mavs players, including Monta Ellis, Dirk Nowitzki, Tyson Chandler, as well as Chandler Parsons.

Parsons already expressed his excitement over the news that Rondo will be joining their team. 

"To be able to get a guy like Rondo, it's unbelievable," Parsons stated. "It's not every day that you can get a point guard of his status, and the way he can pass the ball, he's a difference-maker. To be able have that, with the combination of what we already have with our system and the players put around him, it's special. It's definitely exciting. Like I said, I hope it goes through because he's a heck of a talent, one of [the] better point guards in the NBA." 

Rondo also made a statement about his move to Dallas via his post on Twitter. 

He said, "My time in Boston has meant so much. I've grown up with this city both as a basketball player and person. The love I have for the most loyal And supportive fans in the league is unmatched. I look forward to building something special in Dallas." 

Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge also expressed his thoughts about Rondo's transfer. According to the Celtics exec, the entire organization is very grateful for all the things that he did for the team. 

The 28-year-old point guard stayed with the Celtics for nine seasons, and helped bring the team to victory during the 2008 NBA championship. He had been a great support to other Celtics players like Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce.
